Pressie lived at 3 Whitwell common till her death in 47 when Ronald moved in from the shop at 15 and lived there till 70 including my birth in 1956.
Whitwell has lost a highly respected parishner by the death on Tuesday week at 3 Wc of Hannah at the age of 61.She was a widow of Richard who died 15 yrs ago.She was a native having being born at the Dale inn when her father John Ellis was licensee.She and Richard went to live in Hope and then Bolsover where they kept a butchers shop.Entering the Licensers victualling business they kept the Crown Hotel Clay Cross,the Gate Langwith and the Old Mill South KirkbyThey then took Rackford farm Anston until Richards health faltered and then returned to Whitwell.There are two sons and three daughters and eight grand children.Their daughter Esther has been a seargeant in the ATS.Hannah had been ill for three months in Victoria hospital.The funeral was on Saturday at Whitwell by Sterberg.
